Fluoride: What They Have Done to Us?

What I'm about to disclose to you, will most likely scare or shock most of you. Some of you might be aware of the dangers of fluoride, but I thought sharing this information with my fellow readers would proved to be helpful to them and their families when it regards to health.

The fluoride story will powerfully demonstrate that we are correct to be suspicious of the big-corporations. These institutions have done everything in their power to avoid civic responsibility to manipulate scientific institutions, medical and dental professions, all for the name of PROFIT.

Most of us have been led to believe that fluoridation in drinking water as well as regular brushing with fluoride toothpaste prevents cavities. That is one big outrageous lie and cover up!

What is Fluoride?

Fluoride is a compound composed of a highly reactive element called fluorine. A halogen fluorine is a yellowish poisonous, highly corrosive gas. Halogens are a class of non metallic chemical elements such as chlorine and bromine and are used to kill pathogenic organisms. One halogen, chlorine, can kill all lifeforms including viruses and 'proteinaceous infectious particle' such as the acid-free protein which is responsible for Mad Cow disease. Fluoride is a byproduct of steel, aluminum and fertilizer industries. It is so reactive, that it can eat through steel, glass, iron and aluminum. It joins mercury as one of the most poisonous substances on earth (I will discuss about the dangers of mercury in coming posts).

Sodium fluoride in high concentrations, are used in rat poisons and pesticides. In smaller concentrations, you will find it in your toothpaste! Yes, I said it. It is in our toothpaste! There are tons of toothpaste sold in Malaysia with fluoride as active ingredient. In countries such as US, there is a label on the toothpaste which says "If you accidentally swallowed a small amount of toothpaste, please call the posion center immediately". If sodium fluoride is safe for dental usage, why is this labeling on the toothpaste? We don't need to be a genius to figure this out right?

Investigations disclosed that 'Dental Fluorosis' was caused by elevated natural occurring fluoride found in drinking water. During World War II, the creation of Atomic Bomb, was one of the most secretive projects in US. The manufacture of high grade uranium requires huge amounts of fluoride (millions of tons).

Cancers/DNA damage

Fluoride has been linked to bone cancer since long time ago. Do remember that fluoride accumulates in the body, primarily in the bones. Exposure to airborne fluoride has been related to lung cancer as well. In one study, Dr. Wolfgang Klein demonstrated that 1ppm of fluoride exhibits 50% reduction in DNA-repair-enzyme activity. This is not only increases cancer risk, but also encourage the aggravation of degenerative diseases of the nervous system such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. When unrepaired DNA damage occurs in reproductive cells, it is passed on to children as well. The lowest dose of fluoride inducing genetic damage in human cells is 0.6ppm, and it has proven ( in archives of toxicology) to cause severe DNA damage. One of the most devastating effects of long term, low level fluoride exposure is skeletal damage, which is known as skeletal fluorosis. Phase 1 presenting as arthritis-type pain, and phase 3 as crippling condition. Fluoride also weakens bones and increases risk of fracture. It also poisoned the enzymes which makes the energy for the brain to function properly. It is also proved that long term exposure to fluoride, not only enters but accumulate widely in all areas of the brain. Apart from that, exposure to fluoride could also reduce the production of CoQ10 in the brain, which may be the result of dramatic increase of free-radicals formation.

Soft drinks also presents special hazards. All soft drinks containing fluoride will leech aluminum from the can and causes harm to our body. Furthermore, the longer the can drink sits, especially in higher temperature, the more fluoride compound will be created in the drink. Imagine millions of diet soft drinks being donated to soldiers in Persian Gulf with blazing high temperature!

Lets talk about toothpaste. I have never met a single person whom I know, who is aware of dangers of fluoride in toothpaste. A typical fluoridated toothpaste, contains about 1000-1500ppm, a very high concentration of fluoride. This amount could easily kill a child or adult with low calcium level or bad heart! Whoever is reading this post, I strongly advise you to purchase non-fluoride toothpaste.

Thyroid problems are also associated with exposure of fluoride. Countries like China and India have high rates of Goiter, where the large population are exposed to high levels of fluoride in water systems. Hypothyroidism are strongly linked with fluoride exposure, where evidence shows that thyroid gland accumulate fluoride from environment.

So, it's time to get a new toothpaste and be careful when buying mineral water bottle which has fluoride content. Most dental treatments also used loads of fluoride by dentists as well.

Brain Chemicals (Part 1)

Are you moody most of the time? Are you stressed out frequently? Do you feel easily irritated? How about low in confidence and negative mentality? Do you suffer PMS? Unable to focus or feel energized during at work? Feeling fatigue easily? Having difficulties trying to sleep or while sleeping? How about in tears while reading romance novels or watching romantic movies?

All these emotions are mainly due to deficient of 'neurotransmitters' in our brain. People with low protein diet usually encounters these negative emotions or what I call it "Dark weather". Most people thought these emotions are normal and it happen amongst us. They could not figure it out what causes the mood swings and dependant on caffeine or stimulant (coffee or Red Bull) early mornings and throughout the day in office to keep them focus and awake while at work.

This will be the overview(part 1) of the neurotransmitters deficiency in human body which causes 'False Mood' to people most of the time. Most people are unable to differentiate between 'True Emotions' and 'False Mood'. I will give a couple of scenarios for both these categories, so you could identify which belongs to the right one.

True Emotions:

  • You grief when a relative or friend passed away.
  • You feel embarrass when someone humiliate you.
  • You feel angry when someone smashed your car intentionally.

False Mood:

  • You lost your cool/temper when your son/daughter forgotten to throw the rubbish from the kitchen.
  • You feel moody and irritable before even you 'menstruation cycle' starts.

Being able to identify true emotions and false mood, we then can learn how to handle or overcome true emotions and eliminate the false moods. We have epidemic of depression and highly stressed society suffering from lack of amino acids which cause neurotransmitters deficiency. Yes, protein is the macro-nutrient needed to build these brain chemicals. I'm not talking about meals which involve average protein consumption, but we need high quality wide range of protein which derived from essential amino acids. People who is on Vegan Diet (vegetarian), suffer lack of protein intake, thus, easily deficient in these vital neurotransmitters in the brain. I have friends who are on Vegan Diet thought that it is a healthy diet but I always tell them it is not! I will hopefully post an article about Vegan Diet in coming future.

As I always say to my friends, you get junk mood out of junk food. The pathetic effort of the body that being poisoned and starved by lack of proper nutrition, not to mention the levels of stress being added to the body which causes further decrease in production of 'feel good chemicals' . You can't build a brick house out of wood! I will discuss the types of neurotransmitters produced in our brain and the types of food which is rich in  those selective amino acids in my coming post.

Acanthosis

Does this look familiar to any of you? Well, this is not 'dirt' nor 'scars' found at the back of the neck. It is a velvety hyperpigmented patches of the skin which results from 'long-term exposure to insulin', which induces the formation of the acanthosis lesions. This condition usually occurs to people who are overweight or obese, but there are also 'normal range BMI' weight category people who have Acanthosis. It indicates high level of insulin in blood streams and it is not a diagnosis for Diabetes. But, people who have Acanthosis will have increased risk of developing Diabetes and associated with Obesity. It is a bio-marker for Diabetes and losing weight might slightly 'decrease' the lesions. Please do not try to scrub it off or go to any doctors to perform removal/surgery!

P/S: When I mention lose weight, I don't mean 'dieting' nor skip meals. The idea is to reduce the food consumption with simple carbs(sugar) to avoid frequent sugar spike in blood streams, which will eventually causes 'Insulin Resistance' to our body, and a recipe for Diabetes and other hosts of major diseases.

Priorities in modern society

A century ago, not many people were overweight, nor obese. The word 'Heart Disease' and 'Cancer' were almost unheard of in the 19th century. Heart Disease and Diabetes were rare medical conditions. Today, people who are plump and paunchy outnumbered those who are thin and fit in selective countries such as Unites States. The incidence of diabetes and overweight have increased tremendously in my country(Malaysia) as well. What happened? How could such dramatic changes to overall health occur during this relative period in human history?

In this blog, I would be sharing some of the important details to my fellow readers, as well as the myths and facts about nutrition and health. Please bear in mind that this is not a replacement therapy for medical treatments in anyway as the information which I'm going to share is purely from my nutrition background and years of research/findings about health related clinical studies and science.

I've decided to share my knowledge about nutrition and health to whoever is reading this blog. Hopefully, I could contribute my part in this society to enable people to improve their overall health and be aware of what is REALLY happening, especially with loads of medical scams and 'secrets' of commercial foods being sold worldwide.

As I was strolling along the supermarket alley trying to find the 'best' cheese available in the dairy corner, I overheard an Indian couple discussing on what to choose for the cooking oil sold in that supermarket. The overweight husband said "Buy the cheapest cooking oil". That is one very good example of real live scenario, where people choose between available source of foods, which proved to be the eating habits in modern societies.

People can spend lots of money on buying new expensive phones, clothes, cosmetics, jewelry, cars, shoes, electronic gadgets, etc. But, how many people do actually set priority on their food? We, as human, have been 'disconnected' from nature, and we have lost touch with what have been created by mother nature (GOD) in this planet. People have been consuming mainly on simple carbs, processed foods, GMO products as well as chemicals, toxins and addictives found in most commercial food products sold in groceries outlets. People are consuming carbonated drinks and juices more then WATER. Eating outside in fast foods restaurants and hawkers stalls (in various Asian countries) will accelerate aging in the body, increases free radicals production and risks of degenerative diseases as well as many other nasty complications to health.

How do people decide what food to buy? There are a few factors which enables most people to choose what to buy and eat. Below are some of the main factors which occur in modern society.

1) Taste
2) Convenience
3) Cheap

Those big food corporations knows EXACTLY what we all wants in food. Yes, TASTE! We all decide what food to eat based on primarily taste. I personally know tons of friends and colleagues will ONLY eat if the food taste good. Some people even say "We are all going to die, why bother?". It is not about being able to live only longer, but to be able to live a QUALITY life and die of old age, instead of being killed by a random chronic disease. Most people will only have 'wakeup call' in their life, when that individual is suffering from a major disease which is life threatening.

In modern society, we all can have food to be sent to our doorstep by the click of a 'mouse'. We have automobiles to transport us to any location within the 'shopping radius' to purchase food. Hundreds and thousands years ago, human had to spent hours and days to hunt for food deep in jungle and desserts. During those times, human mainly consume food for the sake of survival. In modern society, we as human, consume food primarily based on 'mood and desire'. Rings a bell?

Money. Yes. It is always a factor whenever someone decide what to buy in food. Most of us tend to buy processed foods which is cheaper then Organic food sold in health outlets. For instance, a large McDonalds meal typically cost about US$3 dollars, and approximately RM9-10 in Malaysia. How many people would splash out more money to buy olive oil(cold pressed), salmon fish, brown rice, organic vegetables and a banana for a more healthier meal? We could buy a RM2000 mobile phone or an LV handbag which cost a bomb, but not able to prioritize on real proper whole foods? What is happening people? What happen to priorities in life? The way of eating, and the type of food we eat and also physical lifestyle determine the quality of life and rate of longevity or mortality. Many of us said "Healthy food does not taste good". I totally disagree on that comment and there are many ways to prepare or cook a fairly tasty meal.

I will write a lot about carbohydrates, protein, fats, vitamins, cholesterol, sugar, hormones, metabolism, major diseases, stress, exercises in my coming posts.
